In 1996 the GPO decided, due to modernisation, that they no longer needed the building. The Auld Post Hotel was conceived. Our plan was to convert the Post Office to a hotel which was sympathetic to the history of the B-listed building. To this end, we retained many original features, whilst introducing modern comforts.
